The government has proposed raising state revenue from the mining sector in 2011 to Rp 16.5 trillion.

This year’s revenue from the mining sector under the Amended National Budget (APBN-P) for 2010 was projected at Rp 15.2 trillion.

Bambang Setiawan, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Director General of Minerals and Coal in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/9) said the higher target accompanied the country’s increased coal and minerals production, as well as soaring coal and minerals prices in international markets in 2011.

Specifically in the case of coal, the government is targeting higher output by 50 million tons, from 275 million tons in 2010 to 325 million tons in 2011.
